Sunset Terrace is a stellar high-end Asheville restaurant. We daintily annihilate their scallops and steak. Please just remember that the Grove Park Inn is a luxury resort hotel.

Most of the year, parking is free for the first few hours in their lots and Vanderbilt parking garage. For the holidays, you will have to pay a hefty self-park or valet fee.

We enjoyed our lunch here, but I wouldn’t necessarily say we have to make this a regular stop.

The sweet tea was perfectly sweet. BBQ is vinegar-based and on the meh side. Honestly can’t recommend any of the sauces. We learned about this place from the Food Network, so our expectations were high. The atmosphere was neat and our waitress was friendly. The taste was fine for both meals – but this isn’t a place I’d make a special trip to.

The restaurant operates its own garden adjacent to its dining room. I love this place. They have a garden out back and indoor, outdoor, and sheltered porch seating. The vibe of the peace is so chill, and the staff is very helpful. The food was great, and they change up their menu often. We got the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffle sandwich, and the lemon pepper crusted trout.

The risotto in the trout was so amazing and perfect. The food came out in a timely manner, and everything was perfect. Amazing cocktails. Got their gin cocktail and it was strong not that we minded. Ordered the pecan crusted fried green tomato sandwich and shrimp and grits. All were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Cute place. Loved that it uses local vendors for their food.

Even in winter time the patio was super toasty with its enclosure and heaters. The food was amazing and arrived quickly. The servers were all really helpful and friendly. Located in the heart of the Historic Pack Square area, the casually elegant Posana ranks among the best Asheville, NC restaurants in terms of fine dining.

The venue decor is modern and elegant and the food is utterly divine. One of the first fancier restaurants in downtown Asheville that we ate at before moving to AVL, Posana is another AVL restaurant that is always jumping. Posana has a dedicated gluten-free kitchen, which is perfect for my Celiac husband.

Like Chiesa and Chestnut, Posana is the best restaurant in Asheville for celebrations. We had my birthday dinner here and everything was fabulous! William was knowledgeable, patient and kind. He made our evening special and the food was absolutely delicious.

But, vacationing on a budget is a reality, and if I would have seen the menu and their prices before we entered, I would have picked another place to dine.

Expect to stand in line at Biscuit Head, but expect it to be well worth the wait. Today, you can find three locations in town one in Greenville, South Carolina, too. This was a place that came highly recommended – and it met those expectations! We must have arrived at the perfect time.

For instance, the pimento cheese grits were different, yet, tasty. The jam bar was awesome. The different flavors that they offer are remarkable.

The coffee was exceptional. The portions were plentiful. In short, it was a great experience. There is something on the menu for most if not all.

I enjoyed it. Biscuit Head is located in Doctor’s Park, which may be required, as a plate from this quick service spot could send you into a food coma.

The line out the door shouldn’t scare you, as the ordering process is seamless with quality recommendations by the cashiers. With a jam bar, all made in house, and several types of coffee to choose from.

I snagged The Filthy Animal, which was topped with a slightly spicy “pimento” cheese. Talk about a high quality, fluffy biscuit! Paired with thick bacon and a juicy piece of fried chicken, you just can’t lose. The Southern Scramble was a dish anyone would like, we added Sriracha Maple sausage. We also snagged the fried green tomato stack featured on the scramble dish. Let me tell you, the slight bittersweet tomato against the pimento cheese just sang, it was really a masterful execution of flavor.

You won’t need salt or pepper on any of these dishes, as they’re perfectly seasoned out of the kitchen just as expected. Enjoy y’all! The Market Place has been a downtown fixture on Wall Street since and long-time chef-owner William Dissen continues to create farm-to-table experiences as well as anyone in the Carolinas.

Sous vide and wood-fired grilled lamb shoulder features crispy papa cacho potatoes, blistered padron peppers, farmer’s cheese, sungold tomatoes, shaved radishes and edible marigolds. When it’s on the menu, the roasted asparagus side features Riverview Organic Farm spears, a soft-poached egg, ham from the beloved Benton’s Hams in eastern Tennessee, pickled rhubarb, herb croutons and Dissen’s take on green goddess dressing.

Shrimp and grits was my favorite I’ve ever had. Each bite was just perfect. The sweet potato donut holes were a surprise to see on a menu and it worked. Very good. I had their smokey bacon and syrup old fashioned and was not disappointed, it was great. Over all the theme of this place supporting local farms is evident in their menu. The restaurant it self if inviting and service was on spot. Great great place to have a brunch. I can only imagine other menus will be just as good. Can not wait to try again on another visit to Asheville.

Detailed Review Incoming: We had an interesting experience at this restaurant today. Arrived for an Easter brunch at 10 am. We were not talked to by a waiter until Crab cakes and fried oyster were delicious and presentation was amazing. Main course was not as good as it looked but still tasty. We got the steak and eggs as well as the trout. Trout was better Overall this restaurant has potential and the food is pretty great.

Just felt very overpriced and was saddened by lack of attention and timeliness. I had a pleasurable experience at The Market Place. I wanted my food to speak to me – I am delicious, and it did! The braised pork shoulder was tasty and melted in my mouth.

The company was co-founded in by two Asheville families who moved to Delaware for a few years, then came back to witness a boom in progressive thought and craft beer culture. Wicked Weed initially offered 25 unique draft beers, but became known for their thick, hoppy, sour beers. The Wicked Weed Brewing Pub is located right in downtown Asheville and is home to a restaurant, tasting room,barrel brewery, and bottle shop.

Check out the upper level of the historic brewery, which has elevated pub gastronomy, plenty of options for beer, and delicious cocktails. In the tasting room, you will be able to try 25 of the beers offered, including some of the limited releases.

Wicked Weed is the perfect Asheville lunch spot if you are hitting up the downtown brewery scene. For food, find anything from small plates to more fancy entrees and snacks. My husband and I went brewery hopping and Wicked Weed was on our list. The service at the bar was exceptional.

The bartenders were very attentive and answered our questions about the menu. We got two flights which are set. The set flights are highly encouraged and were very interesting. They each offered a variety of beers with very distinct tastes. Family and I came for dinner after visiting the Arboretum and this place was a hit!!! Outdoor seating was a plus, service was quick, and food was delicious. Special mention on the beer! I shared a mixed flight with my sister and loved each one. I ordered the Carolina Bison Burger medium well with bacon.

Really enjoyed this brewery and all the beers it offers. Loved trying all the interesting flavors like the Milk and Cookies stout, the brute ale-wine and the Kesho honey ale.

The Admiral was a beacon for the now-burgeoning West Ashville culinary scene, luring other talented chefs for one of the hippest dining scenes in the region. The vibe at The Admiral is unpretentious and so is the menu, but Chef Matt Dawes delivers with every bite. His silky duck liver mousse is rustically presented with fig jam and almonds on buttermilk breadpotato gnocchi with butternut squash, sage, brown butter and pepitas is a rustic plate of art.

Great from start to finish! But, Greta was wonderful and worked her magic to secure us a table. Our server, Mark, was great! He was extremely attentive and made the perfect suggestions for our entire group. We loved everything that we ordered from drinks to food to dessert. Shorter than usual wait time for a breakfast place in Asheville on the weekends. Staff was friendly and great. Food was awesome. Great vegetarian options, biscuits and vegan gravy were a great side, and my breakfast bowl was great.

They claim to be a farm to table place, and that is believable based on the fresh ingredients and the list of local farms and vendors they utilize.
