Wisconsin State Fair annually attracts over one million attendees during the day event. These attendees represent a diverse cross section of customers from primarily Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The number of new applications received each year is generally greater than the space we have available since the majority of our vendors choose to return each year.

Unfortunately, not all applicants will receive a Vendor License Agreement to fill the remaining spaces. Selection of new vendors will continue until all available space is filled. If your application is selected, you will be notified immediately, and a Vendor License Agreement will be sent to you. Applications can only be submitted using the link provided on the vendor information page. If you need assistance with the link please email vendorservices wistatefair.

There is no due date for vendor applications. New vendor applications are considered as space becomes available, typically in winter and spring.

New vendor applications will start being considered for space in winter and spring. While most spaces are filled prior to June 1, we continue to accept applications until the start of the Fair and fill vendor space if a cancellation occurs. There is no cost to submit an application. Please do not send any payment with your application. Submitting an application does not guarantee a space at the Wisconsin State Fair. New applicants are selected based on uniqueness of product or service, appearance of display in color photos submitted with application, availability of space, and prior experience at events.

Be sure to follow all instructions on the application, including sending color photos of your display. Incomplete applications will not be considered for space. You will be notified of our decision on or before the last Friday in May. If you have any questions about the status of your application, we ask that you please contact us after June 1.

All applications are kept on file for 2 years, but it is recommended that you apply annually to provide updated information and to signal your continued interest. You may prioritize your booth location on the application. However, we will not know what areas are available until we have processed all requests from returning vendors.

Our team will try to accommodate applicants as best we can. We place all vendors in locations that we feel will be beneficial to both the vendor and Fairgoer. Vendors outside are required to be open from 9am until 1 hour before close with the option to stay open until the State Fair closes. For information on bringing in a Mobile Tour, please visit our Sponsorship Opportunities page. The cost of booth rental includes only the space, with pipe and drape or tenting included in certain locations.

Utilities, parking, and admission are not included in the cost of booth rental. However, we will provide you with the contact information for our onsite decorating company that provides these services.

All vendors must stay within their footprint at all times. Due dates vary by when agreements for space are issued; the earliest agreement due date is June 1. For new vendors, one half of the agreement balance is due approximately two weeks after the agreement is offered. Vendor admission may be purchased at a reduced rate starting on May 1. It is recommended that vendors utilize a hardline internet connection. More information about internet connection will be available in the Vendor Manual. Space in the RV Park is limited and is recommended to be booked early, but may not be reserved until a Vendor License Agreement is issued.

Vendors selling food must obtain the appropriate permit from the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection for their operation. So for us, it’s like you got to keep grilling,” Dunnum said. Ann Schulz, board coordinator for the Wisconsin State Fair Dairy Promotion Board, said she’s happy with the sales at the fair’s grilled cheese and chocolate milkshakes booths so far. But the grilled cheese has been here a lot longer — 14 years. We also have to remember that was a phenomenal year for us,” Schulz said.

Despite some poor weather, small bursts of rain helped push business inside the pavilion, though full days of rain generally just see less fairgoers. Schulz also said that for her department, it hasn’t been difficult to source supplies, but she explained that some other dairy vendors may have had other difficulties. Over at the Wisconsin Apple Growers Association booth, which sells the much-loved apple cider donuts and other treats, things are a little on the rough side this year.

Manager Brad Maenner said that due to the fair cutting back its morning hours this year, WAGA has seen some sales decreases because a lot of their food is breakfast-oriented.

Plus, they’ve had to remove some items because they’re harder to keep sanitized. Well, now we’ve lost our mornings,” Maenner said. We still make the fresh donuts. But a lot of the other stuff The good news is that most apple growers have been having a good year so far with weather; Maenner said only an early spring frost held some growers back. He added that many are looking forward to a better season this year with many more people going outside for apple picking and other activities.

For the Wisconsin Cherry Growers, business has been booming. Employee Sandy Sikich said opening day Aug. They were just buying a juice and they waited in line,” Sikich said. One of the WCG’s newest creations for the state fair crowd was its cherry cupcake. Employee Barbara Moulton said that while it’s made in a bakery in Greendale, near Milwaukee, the cherries are sourced right from Door County.

And as always, the booth’s cherry slushies and juices continue to be its best-sellers to beat the heat.
